During and since the 2019-22 Covid public health emergency, WA Verify has made it easy for Washington State residents to access and share their COVID-19 vaccination information. Individuals generatedover 1.8 million SMART Health Card QR codes, allowing users to share authenticated proof of vaccination.
Building on this success, and on the public trust it generated, the WA Verify+ IPS web app enables residents to create and share verifiable health summaries using the International Patient Summary (IPS) standard. This expansion supports patient access to health records as required by the 21st Century Cures Act, and as supported by TEFCA Individual Access, facilitating secure, patient-controlled data sharing through SMART Health Links.
