The Health Care Information Council in The Netherlands adopted the Patient Summary (BgZ) and the use of Clinical Information Models (zibs) as national standards for the exchange of patiënt information in January 2018. Implementation is ongoing across all healthcare providers and includes patient access as an important driver.
