The International Patient Summary key health data, worldwide

IPS Implementation Registry

Maintained by the IPS Coordination Committee (IPSCC) and informed by a broad global community of contributors — including individuals, organizations, associations, and international partners such as the Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP) — the IPS Implementation Registry is a living record of how implementers around the world are putting the International Patient Summary into practice.

From national patient summary programs in Canada, Australia, and the United States, to cross-border care initiatives across Europe, to innovative Hajj pilgrimage health data sharing in Indonesia and Malaysia, the registry reflects the collective knowledge and experience of the global IPS community. It grows stronger with every contribution, and we invite implementers to add their voice to the record.

At its core, the Implementation Registry is a structured inventory that captures, for each participating country or region:

  • The implementing organization or project name and primary contacts
  • The technical approach taken (provider-mediated, patient-mediated, or both)
  • Links to implementation guides and supporting documentation
  • The current status of the implementation (active, pilot, planning, not yet implemented)
  • Contextual details about local adaptations, governance structures, and use cases

Is your implementation listed?

The registry grows stronger with every entry. If your organization is implementing the IPS and you’re not yet represented, we invite you to contribute. Help the global community learn from your work.

  • The IPS Implementation Registry contains self-reported information from contributing organizations. Entries are not formally validated or ratified by the IPSCC, and inclusion does not indicate conformance assessment, certification, or endorsement of the implementation by the IPSCC.
